
Barry J. Glick – Executive Vice President and General Manager
Barry J. Glick has more than 25 years experience in the mapping, location technology and navigation industry. In 1994, he was the founding CEO of GeoSystems Global Corporation and led the company to its initial venture capital funding and the development of its breakthrough MapQuest.com consumer website, as well as its B2B successes with Fortune 500 companies. As a result of the company’s early success in Internet mapping, GeoSystems went public in 1999 and was acquired by AOL/Time Warner in 2000. Glick later became Chairman and CEO of Webraska Mobile Technologies, Inc. headquartered in France, and a pioneer in off-board navigation and location-based services. Webraska was later sold to Sanef, part of the abertis Group, the number one transport and telecom infrastructure management operator in Europe.
Glick then served as Vice President of Internet, Mobile and Media Products for NAVTEQ, a global provider of maps, traffic and location data enabling navigation, location-based services and mobile advertising. NAVTEQ was acquired by Nokia in 2008. In addition to his role at ALK, Glick serves as Chairman of smartRealm LLC, and as a Partner or Board Member at GeoCodex, LLC; Location, Inc.; Carillon Ventures, LLC; and Spatial Justice Resources, Inc. He holds a Ph.D. in Geography from the State University of New York at Buffalo and a Master’s degree from Cornell University.
Mike Bodden – Senior Vice President, Technology
Currently Senior Vice President, Technology, Mike’s primary expertise since joining the company in August 1983 has been software design and architecture, and applications programming particularly associated with transportation issues.
Mike directed the development of the Door-to-Door product line from ALK’s former TravRoute division: the first computer-based mapping product to provide street-level driving directions for the entire United States. Door-to-Door was the flagship product in, and serves as the backbone for, the award-winning CoPilot® in-vehicle route guidance product line.
Serving as the Lead Programmer and Project Manager, his team developed a motive power system for Canadian National Railways. CN's operations control center uses the network of high-resolution color graphic user and projector workstations, 24 hours per day, to manage the daily operations of their entire fleet of locomotives.
Mike was the original developer of ALK's PC*MILER® computer-based highway routing and mileage guide. He also served as the lead designer and developer of a fuel tax reporting system. Together, these two products are used extensively by state fuel tax auditors and throughout the trucking industry.
A member of Sigma Xi, he graduated cum laude from Princeton University with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree and a concentration on the fields of transportation and computer graphics.
Michael Kornhauser – Senior Vice President, Enterprise Solutions
Michael is Senior Vice President, Enterprise Solutions Worldwide. He is responsible for leading the sales, business development, marketing, product management and support for all products and services sold worldwide. Prior to his appointment of Senior Vice President, he held the position of Managing Director Europe. Michael joined ALK in 2003 with the task of establishing the company's European operations and to lead development of CoPilot Live products tailored to the European market place. Since then he has overseen the opening of offices in UK, France and Germany; been the driving force behind strategic relationships with partners across Europe and built a team of marketing, business development and support professionals to support the company's rapid growth.
Prior to ALK, Michael worked at Compaq Computer Corporation as a Hardware Design Engineer, designing system boards for the company's renowned Alpha Server Division.
Michael studied at Trinity College, where he received a research grant from NASA and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering.
Mark Hornung – Senior Vice President, Strategic Projects
Mark is Senior Vice President and has been with the firm since its founding in June 1979, originally as Vice President. His professional experience has focused on strategic planning, equipment management systems and routing and mapping software.
His strategic planning experience includes nearly every major U.S. railroad merger or restructuring since 1980. Mark designed and developed ALK's Advanced Traffic Diversion Model, which forecasts the changes in traffic and revenue due to railroad restructuring. He directed ALK's development of locomotive management systems for four major railroads, incorporating innovative graphic user interfaces, decision support, and system-wide optimization.
In the area of routing and mapping software, Mark designed and programmed ALK's Princeton Transportation Network Model and Graphic Information System, a pioneering mainframe-based system for transportation network display, routing, and traffic assignment. Mark has overseen the development of ALK's PC-based routing and mileage systems, PC*MILER® and PC*RAIL®, including the adaptation of the former into the Defense Table of Official Distances (DTOD) for the US Department of Defense.
Mark holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree with high honors from Princeton University, with a concentration in transportation studies.
Dan Popkin – VP, Business Development - Worldwide, Enterprise Solutions
Dan is Vice President Business Development – Worldwide, Enterprise Solutions. As part of the ALK team since 2000, Dan leads the worldwide business development team responsible for building strategic alliances and partnerships across key vertical markets for all of ALK’s Enterprise solutions including PC*MILER® surface freight transportation industry-standard routing, mapping, and mileage payment software; CoPilot® Live and CoPilot Truck Professional in-vehicle turn-by-turn navigation software; and ALK’s DigitalMaps ™of North America.
Formerly Vice President of Copilot Sales, Dan co-headed ALK’s mobile navigation business leading sales operations and business development with oversight of direct and indirect sales channels for CoPilot products as well as development and management of key accounts. Dan co-established ALK’s European business operations in 2003 and has built a team of sales, marketing, and business development professionals in the United Kingdom, France, and Germany to support the company’s expansion into the consumer, and enterprise markets globally.
Dan graduated cum laude from the Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service, majoring in International Politics
Craig Fiander – VP, Marketing - North America, Enterprise Solutions
Craig is Vice President Marketing for the Enterprise Solutions Group in North America. He is responsible for the Enterprise Solutions Marketing and Communications Team in North America and leads the planning and execution of the Annual ALK Technology Summit. His team, based in our Princeton, NJ office, is responsible for the marketing and communications of all of ALK's enterprise products including the entire PC*MILER product line, ALK Maps as well as the CoPilot Truck and CoPilot Live Professional products. Craig is also responsible for managing ALK’s corporate marketing communications activities.
Since joining the company in 1993, Craig has held various positions including Vice President, Marketing for PC*MILER Solutions in North America and Product Manager for numerous business software solutions. He has also held sales and marketing management positions, including Senior Director, Marketing.
Craig has led the branding of industry-standard PC*MILER and the launches of numerous industry-first software applications and services.
Prior to ALK, Craig worked as a Research Analyst with the Civil Engineering Transportation Research Department at the University of New Brunswick, a leading Canadian engineering school. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and a Certificate in Political Economy from Princeton University.
Craig is an active member of the American Trucking Associations (ATA), National Industrial Transportation League (NITL), National Private Truck Council (NPTC), Truckload Carriers Association (TCA), Transportation Marketing and Sales Association (TMSA), and the New Jersey Communications, Advertising and Marketing Association (NJ CAMA). He has been quoted extensively in transportation industry publications and has made numerous presentations at professional conferences throughout North America.
Dan Titus – VP, Business Development - North America, Enterprise Solutions
Dan is responsible for the Enterprise Solutions Business Development Team in North America as well as directly managing key strategic partnerships in the region. His team, based out of our Princeton, NJ office, is responsible for Channel and Business Development including working with CoPilot Truck Professional, CoPilot Live Professional, and PC*MILER solution partners and major fleet customers.
As President of ALK's former TravRoute division from 1995-2000, Dan led efforts to launch the nationwide desktop mapping solution, Door-to-Door, to the North American retail software channel. PC Data ranked TravRoute as a Top 20 Publisher of productivity software. From 1988-1992, Titus led the development of ALK’s commercial software solution, PC*MILER, and directed Sales & Marketing efforts to penetrate the commercial mileage system market by expanding distribution channels, establishing both direct and indirect sales channels and building brand awareness.
Dan holds an MBA from Columbia University with concentrations in Finance and Strategic Management. Dan is a graduate of Princeton University with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree with concentrations in Engineering Management Systems and Economics.
