The US Department of Defense

The US Department of Defense uses PC*MILER as their worldwide distance standard. The DoD licenses ALKŪ PC*MILER products globally to provide worldwide distance calculation data and software for the their Defense Table of Official Distances (DTOD). All North American motor carriers and logistics companies handling freight and personal property shipments for the DoD are bound by DTOD 17.1 mileage for payment and audit purposes. DTOD also extends to all European personal property and household goods movements. PC*MILER|Worldwide and DTOD are the only two worldwide distance calculation software products currently available.

FMCSA

In accordance with its contract to operate, maintain and supply point-to-point routing for the National Hazardous Materials Route Registry (NHMRR), ALK Technologies, Inc. is pleased to announce that the web-based service is fully functional. The contract, awarded to ALK in June 2003 by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration(FMCSA), calls for the industry-standard PC*MILER®|HazMat solution to serve as the routing and mapping engine for the Internet-based service sponsored by the agency. The NHMRR is the official repository of State and Indian tribe hazardous material routing designations. Motor carriers transporting hazardous materials must comply with these designations pursuant to Federal regulation 49 CFR §397.67.

A recent agreement between ALK Technologies and NAVTEQ will allow a European rollout for ALK CoPilot navigation and route guidance solutions. NAVTEQ Corporation creates digital map data of unrivaled depth and accuracy. NAVTEQ's data products revolutionize the map experience: the way people think about maps, what they represent, and how they can be used.
