Quality Assurance Analyst – Summer Internship
ALK is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Quality Assurance Intern with a desire to learn more about software testing. This is a summer internship opportunity to begin in May/June 2013.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the testing of transportation/logistics software and web-based applications
- Provide clear and concise defect reporting and tracking
- Work closely with internal teams (development, project management, Tech Support) to ensure highest level of quality for software releases.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be working towards a Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, etc.
- Basic understanding of software quality assurance, SDLC, or technical support

Associate QA Engineer
ALK is adding an Associate QA Engineer to our navigation and map data routing QA/Test team.
Responsibilities will include:
- Develop, document, and execute test scenarios to validate usability, functionality, performance, and data integrity.
- Develop and maintain automated UI, functional, and performance test suites for smoke and regression testing.
- Execute manual and automated testing.
- Perform complex UI, functional, application, regression, and performance tests.
- Report software defects and verify when resolved.
- Assist support team with resolving customer issues as necessary.
Requirements:
- BS in CS/IS/IT/EE or equivalent degree with classroom or professional programming experience.
- Solid understanding of scripting languages (i.e. Ruby).
- Solid understanding of W3C Web Services.
- Understanding of C++ and C#.NET a plus.

You will be working on our PC*MILER Web Services product, which is a hardware and software agnostic interface to PC*MILER giving the user’s ability to access the functionality associated with the core product, making it easier to share data and improve efficiency. It offers a standardized way of integrating Web-based applications using XML and SOAP over an Internet Protocol Backbone, all developed in Microsoft .NET
We are looking for a well-rounded software engineer with a solid foundation in programming and the ability to work through complex problems. You will be working with a team of 8-10 programmers on the development of reliable software by following a methodology including analysis, design, testing, and validation.
Requirements:
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent degree
- 5+ years software development experience
- Experience with C#, .Net, WCF, Web Services, XML, and SOAP
- Experience developing enterprise level applications
- Proficiency with databases design, SQL, stored procedures, etc.
- Experience with C/C++ programming nice to have

Job Activity:The TAM is the main interface between ALK's technical teams and the customers during the implementation phase of projects. This includes support and guidance to customers on the best ways of integrating the products as well as ensuring smooth deployments.
Management and Project Handling:
