Fuel Efficiency Tops Concerns at Fourth Annual ALK Technologies Transportation Technology Summit
The impact of rising fuel prices topped the discussion at the fourth annual Transportation Technology Summit, held April 14-16 in Princeton, New Jersey. "If fuel is going to be so expensive, then we have to be more efficient," said ALK founder and Princeton University professor Dr. Alain Kornhauser. PC*MILER Web Services 22 is here! This hosted interfacing application provides industry-standard PC*MILER map data and functionality quickly and efficiently to customers. It does this regardless of the IT infrastructure via a schema driven XML/SOAP interface developed in Microsoft® .NET, packaged as a Web Service. Access is provided to PC*MILER Web Services through four feature option levels - Lite, Standard, Premium and Enterprise.  New features and functionality were incorporated into all levels for the Version 22 release.

Roy Schijns has joined ALK Technologies as the Vice President, Sales for PC*MILER. Schijns has extensive sales and business development experience in technology and telecommunications. "Our customers are facing unprecedented challenges, and ALK has the know-how to help meet those challenges," said Dr. Alain Kornhauser. "Roy is the right person to lead our sales efforts at this decisive time." Hogan Transport Selects ALK|FleetSuite Directions
Hogan Inc., based in St. Louis, MO has implemented ALK|FleetSuite Directions for its truckload fleet of 1,000 power units. ALK|FleetSuite Directions integrate seamlessly with transportation management and optimization software that Hogan operations uses from TMW Systems and Manhattan Associates. Prior to the implementation of ALK|FleetSuite Directions, Hogan dispatchers were giving directions to drivers based on archived customer profiles, which were not always accurate. Now, drivers have accurate directions and dispatchers can handle more revenue-producing loads.
