PC*MILER|Spreadsheets allows users to view and interact with PC*MILER data in an environment specifically designed for data analysis and calculation. Through a custom Add-In into your spreadsheet program, formulas are exposed to gain access to PC*MILER data.

There are several formulas to choose from, allowing users to generate mileage calculations, geocode street-level addresses, translate latitude/longitude points into city/state combinations, calculate drive times from one stop to another, and generate a state/country distance report that provides trip mileage information by state/jurisdiction. The most popular formulas used are:

  • [=Miles(Origin, Destination, "Routing Type")] : Returns mileage between two locations based on the routing type selected.
  • [=ZIPCode(City, State)] : Returns a 5-digit ZIP Code from a corresponding City/State.
  • [=CityName(Location)] : Returns a City/State from a corresponding ZIP/Postal Code or SPLC.
  • [=FullName(Location)] : Returns ZIP Code, City/State and county name from a corresponding ZIP/Postal Code, SPLC, or City/State.
  • [=Tolls(Origin, Destination, "Toll Reporting Option", "Routing Type")] : Returns the total toll cost from the origin to the destination (City/State, Address, ZIP/Postal Code, SPLC, Lat/Long, or Custom Place).
  • [=DiscountedTolls (Origin, Destination, Discount Toll Program, Corresponding State, "Routing Type)] : Returns the portion of the toll costs for the trip attributable to the specified discount program and the specified state. For example, calculate the E-ZPass toll costs by state for a trip.

NOTE: Where applicable, a purchase of Canadian Postal Codes and Standard Point Location Codes are required.
