CoPilot Product Line Case Study

William Little
GM Internet Manager Elkton, Maryland

Wow, where do I start? I was initially turned onto Pocket CoPilot 3.0 from one of my customers here at Williams Chevrolet in Elkton Maryland. He stated that he needed to get his GPS unit out of his automobile before I could take his old truck away. While making the delivery of his brand new truck, I got to see CoPilot in action. I made some comments such as, “wow, that’s cool, show me how it works” and eventually “wow that’s cool, tell me how I get one!”

While traveling and making our yearly trip from Maryland to Ohio to see my Grandmother, I noticed we needed fuel in our car. We were traveling with our two sons (one and four years old). Every time we got off the interstate to get gas, the stations were closed since it was two o'clock in the morning. After getting off the highway four times (now it was 2:30am) we were not only scared but also below "E" on the gas gauge! My wife suggested that I do a search on our Pocket PC (running CoPilot) for fuel stops and sure enough it brought up a whole list ordered from closest to furthest away. I quickly noticed a "Sheets 24 HR" listed, and within half a mile we were there. CoPilot saved us! I could not have imagined running out of gas at 2:30am with my wife and two boys in the car in the middle of Nowhere, VA.

I tell this story to every customer at my dealership that considers a GPS Navigation System. Also, I have to share one other interesting story. I was traveling to Las Vegas in October 2005 for a General Motors business trip. Of course, I never leave home without my Pocket PC (with CoPilot) and Bluetooth GPS Receiver. I was on the plane and decided to turn on my Pocket PC and start CoPilot. I did not really think it would work, but quickly realized I could tell we were traveling at 42,000 feet and at 650 miles per hour! I could watch the display rapidly change and tell me each and every city we were going through even though we were miles above the ground! Some of the people sitting around me were amazed that I could tell them the information and also keep everyone updated on what time we would arrive at the Las Vegas Airport from Philadelphia!

Again, keep up the great work and I will keep promoting your products and selling the units for you, trust me it isn't hard at all!
