ALK Mileage Now Standard at Getloaded.com
ALK Technologies PC*MILER 17.1
becomes the official mileage software
at the Internet-based load matching service.

PRINCETON, NJ – February 5, 2004— ALK Technologies, Inc., the industry’s leading developer of routing, mileage and mapping software, today announced that the Internet-based load matching service, Getloaded.com LLC, has adopted ALK PC*MILER software as its official mileage solution.

“We are very pleased to announce this partnership with Getloaded.com to offer the industry our advanced mileage software,” said David Scowby, Sales Director for PC*MILER at ALK. “PC*MILER 17.1 is widely accepted by trucking operations as the preferred mapping and routing software because of the accuracy of its database. In addition, this product offers vast integration capabilities to help customers better address their needs. Our new relationship with Getloaded.com caps off a year in which we saw a tremendous leap in the widespread adoption of PC*MILER as the standard for the industry.”

Getloaded.com, according to Charles F. Myers, Vice President, selected PC*MILER from ALK because a majority of its customers requested it. “We actually surveyed our posting members and asked them which mileage software they preferred to have on our system,” he reported. “We not only had a high rate of survey returns, more importantly, almost 60% chose PC*MILER. When our contract with another mileage software provider expired at the end of last year, we immediately switched to ALK.”

Getloaded.com is an Internet-based load matching service for freight brokers, owner-operators, fleets and shippers. The site handles about 70,000 loads per day. “Currently,” Myers related, “we’re using PC*MILER to append mileage to loads before they are posted to the board. In addition, we’re planning to offer our trucker and premium posting accounts the ability to look up mileage based origin-destination pairs.

“With the PC*MILER database at their disposal,” Myers added, “our customers can better manage their businesses. By the end of the year, we’re also planning to offer routing capabilities using PC*MILER. Looking further ahead, we’re considering integrating mapping tools, and the ability to analyze routes and load profitability based on the PC*MILER solution.”

PC*MILER FEATURES
PC*MILER 17.1 contains the most accurate North American highway database available. Incorporated in the newest release are a total of 738,000 miles, including 3,500 additional North American road miles and over 16,600 miles of highway access ramps as well as all recent North American road openings, name changes and construction updates.Other data in the PC*MILER 17.1 software includes:

  • All US Department of Defense military installations
  • Over 310,000 accessible locations
  • Over 772,500 six-digit Canadian Postal Codes
  • Over 112,500 Standard Point Location Codes (SPLCs)
  • 6,300 truck stops from Comdata’s GeoFUEL network and Zenrin USA, Inc.
  • 42,501 year-2003 five-digit US ZIP Codes
  • 775 CAT Weigh Scale Stations
  • County name designation for every location13’-'6" height restrictions in the US and Canadian highway network
