4. The manual states I need to let Windows boot up fully each time before I plug in my GPS receiver. Is this true?

  1. The reason for this is because some computers will try and detect the GPS receiver as a mouse if it is plugged in before the computer boots up. This can cause the computer to encounter problems. If you power up your laptop with the GPS receiver already plugged in and the mouse, computer, and GPS unit operate normally after Windows has finished booting up, you can keep the GPS receiver plugged in.
