2. CoPilot's speech sounds like garbled nonsense. How can I make it understandable?

  1. Make sure that the language on your laptop is set to English. If it is not, CoPilot's speech can sound like garbled nonsense. To check this follow the directions below.
    1. Double click on My Computer
    2. Double click on Control Panel.
    3. Next double click on Regional Settings.
    4. Please make sure the language is set to "English(United States)".
      5. If it is please go to step two.
  2. We want to check a couple of settings in the WatsonASR 2.1 Configuration.
    1. Under your Start button go to: Settings...Control Panel...WatsonASR 2.1
    2. In the WatsonASR 2.1 Configuration Window please choose the "Audio Timeouts" tab.
    3. With your mouse change the time-out settings for both sound and phrase to "12623 msecs".
    4. Next under "Performance", make sure it reads:
      • Performance: 50
      • Confidence Threshold: 50
      • Reaction Time: 10
      • Number of Results: 1
