When I open CoPilot using my Philips GPS receiver (GPS-CP101), it says "No GPS Signal, Please Check Connections".
Follow the instructions below to edit the CoPilot preferences.cfg file that will resolve this issue.
In windows XP:
- Double click on My Computer.
- Double click on Local Disk C.
- Double click on Program Files.
- Double click on ALK Technologies.
- Double click on CoPilot Laptop.
- Double click on the APP folder.
- Find the preferences.cfg file, double click on this file and select to open it with Notepad.
- Find [GPS]. Under this category you will see a "GPSReceiver" line. Make sure this line reads "GPSReceiver"=512. If the line is not displayed like this, make the necessary changes.
- Click on File and select Save.
- Close all open windows and open CoPilot. (NOTE: you should not have to go through the setup of the GPS, it should automatically be recognized.)
In Windows Vista:
- Click on Start and select Computer.
- Double click on Local Disk C.
- Double click on Users.
- Double click on Public.
- Double click on Public Apps.
- Double click on ALK Technologies.
- Double click on CoPilot Laptop.
- Double click on the APP folder.
- Find the preferences.cfg file, double click on this file and select to open it with Notepad.
- Find [GPS]. Under this category you will see a "GPSReceiver" line. Make sure this line reads "GPSReceiver"=512. If the line is not displayed like this, make the necessary changes.
- Click on File and select Save.
- lose all open windows and open CoPilot. (NOTE: you should not have to go through the setup of the GPS, it should automatically be recognized.)
