The USB to Serial GPS I used with CoPilot 2003 does not work with CoPilot Truck | Laptop 9. How can I get it to work?

Please follow the directions below.

1. Plug in the USB to Serial GPS. Please make sure all the connections are secure.
2. Go to Start > Programs > CoPilot Truck | Laptop 9 > GPS Tools. This runs a program to install the GPS receiver.
3. Next open CoPilot to confirm the GPS is recognized.
4. If the GPS is not recognized go to Start > Control Panel > System > Device Manager.
5. In Device Manager click on the + sign next to Ports.
6. You should see a line that says "Prolific USB-to-Serial Comm Port (COM3)'. The COM number may vary, we use 3 for this example. You need to just confirm what COM number has been assigned to the GPS receiver.
7. Next open CoPilot and go to Guidance mode > Options > GPS Status. Set the COM port to the COM number you verified in Device Manager.
8. Your GPS should now be recognized. If you continue to experience difficulty please contact our Technical Support department by clicking here.
