My Pocket PC successfully logs into the Live server, but when
I log into live.alk.com through an internet browser, my device is not
listed.
Older versions of CoPilot do not automatically login into the new Live
2 server. They point to the older Live 1.5 server.
There are two solutions to this issue:
1. The old Live 1.5 server can still be accessed via an internet browser.
You will need to use this new link to access the website: http://live1.alk.com
2. You can change the setting that tells your Pocket PC where to login by
following the directions below:
How to change the Pocket PC to use the new Live 2 website: *Requires
a PC and an ActiveSync connection.
1. Close Copilot on your Pocket PC
2. Connect your Pocket PC to your PC via ActiveSync
3. Open Microsoft ActiveSync and click the Explore button
4. Browse to \My Pocket PC\CoPilot
5. Locate and right click on the file named MSG.cfg and select Copy
6. Go to your desktop and right click on a blank area and select Paste to
copy the MSG.cfg file from the Pocket PC to the Desktop
7. Once the file has been copied, double click on it. When prompted with
“Windows cannot open this file”, choose the “select a
program from a list” option and click next. On the next screen, choose
the program named “Wordpad” and click OK. This will open the
MSG.cfg file.
8. Once the MSG.cfg file has been opened in WordPad, locate this line: "ListenerIP"="205.246.138.70"
and change it to this:
"ListenerIP"="gateway03.alk.com"
9. Once the setting has been changed, go to the file menu and select Save
and then close the file.
10. Locate the MSG.cfg file on your desktop, right click on it and select
Copy.
11. Open Microsoft ActiveSync and click the Explore button.
12. Browse to \My Pocket PC\CoPilot
13. Go to the edit menu and select Paste. If you are prompted with “This
file already exists, would you like to replace it?” Choose Yes. You
may also be asked if you would like to convert the file. Choose Yes.
14. Once the file has been saved, Copilot will point to the new Live 2 server.
****Before you can access the new Live 2 website, you will need to create
a new account. Old Live 1.5 accounts will not be available on the new Live
2 website. Please visit (ACCOUNT NOT FOUND FAQ)
