When downloading map data to "Storage Card in Pocket PC" with Microsoft ActiveSync 4.X, I receive an "Access Violation Error"
There is currently an incompatibility with CoPilot 6 and ActiveSync 4.X. Please use the directions below to download your map data.
Manual Data Download Instructions
1. Close CoPilot
2. Disconnect your Pocket PC from your desktop and close Active Sync
3. Open CoPilot and start the Data Download Wizard
4. Choose the the Storage Card Reader option as your download location,
pick drive letter C, click Next, follow the on screen directions and download
the data. *The map data will be downloaded to your
hard drive. ** Make sure you have the available space on your storage card
for the Data Download you create.
5. Once the Data has been downloaded to your hard drive, close CoPilot
6. Connect your Pocket PC to your desktop via Active Sync
7. On your desktop, open My Computer and open Local Disk C:\
8. Locate and Right click on the CoPilot folder and select Copy.
9. Open Active Sync and click the Explore button
10. Browse to \My Mobile Device\Storage Card
11. Go to the Edit Menu and select Paste. This will copy the data from your
hard drive to the storage card.
12. Once the Data has been copied, now copy the Quick Start installation
files. Open My Computer on your desktop and open Local Disk C:\
13. Locate and Right click on the 2577 folder and select Copy.
14. Open Active Sync and click the Explore button
15. Browse to \My Mobile Device\Storage Card
16. Go to the Edit Menu and select Paste. This will copy the Quick Start
files from your hard drive to the storage card.
17. Once the Quick Start files are copied, you can now use CoPilot on the
Pocket PC.
