2. My Pocket PC lost power and Hard Reset. What do I need to do to reactivate CoPilot Live?

ALK understands that Pocket PC devices may be hard reset on a frequent basis. Because of this, our licensing policy allows for an unlimited number of activations after hard resets.

If your Pocket PC has been hard reset, simply perform one of the following:

For Automatic activation, follow the steps below (requires Pocket PC connection with a Desktop computer that is connected to the internet):

1. Install CoPilot Live
2. Connect your Pocket PC to your Desktop computer via ActiveSync®
3 . Run CoPilot Live on the Pocket PC
4 . If prompted, enter your Product Key and tap "OK"
5 . Connect your Desktop computer to the internet
6 . Tap "Next" on your Pocket PC
7 . Enter your e-mail address and tap "Next"
8 . Tap "Next" to connect to the internet and activate copilot.

For Manual activation, follow the steps below (requires access to a Desktop computer that is connected to the internet):

1. Install CoPilot Live
2 . Run CoPilot Live on the Pocket PC
3 . If prompted, enter your Product Key and tap "OK"
4 . Tap"Next" to continue the activation
5 . Enter your email address and tap"Next"
6 . Again tap "Next" and this will attempt to connect to the internet to activate CoPilot. When you receive the "Failed to connect to the internet" message, tap on "Next". After the second attempt to connect to the internet, tap "Next" to view and write down your 25 digit product key and 8 digit license number.
7 . On your Desktop computer, go to http://activate.alk.com
8 . On the web page, enter your Product Key, License Number, and e-mail address and click "Submit" to obtain your activation code.
Note: The Product Key and License Number are displayed on the Pocket PC activate screen.
9 . Enter the Activation code displayed on the web page on your Pocket PC and tap "Activate"

Note: A confirmation will be sent to the e-mail address you entered.

If you do not have an internet connection or the activation is unsuccessful, contact ALK technical support at techsupport@alk.com to receive an activation code. Please include the following information in your e-mail:

  • Product Key
  • License Number
  • Device manufacturer/model number
  • A note stating this is a re-activation
