How does PC*MILER’s 53 Foot Trailer routing handle stops that can only be reached by traveling on restricted roads? Yes. Note that for Postal Codes that are duplicates of US ZIP codes you will lose access to the US ZIP codes when you do this process. However, you can still route to these US cities by entering the city and its 2-character state code. 53’ Trailer routing uses roads that permit oversized trailers whenever possible. Where a 53’ Trailer route is forced to use a restricted road, the Detailed Driving Directions report for that route includes a warning, and – in PC*MILER v. 20 – a red exclamation point appears next to the stop in question in the route entry window after the route has been generated. An example of a location that cannot be accessed using an unrestricted road is Eureka, CA, as US Hwy 101 and CA Rte. 299 are both restricted for oversized trailers.
