Can I have multiple versions of PC*MILER on my PC, and run all of them on the AS/400?

The PC*MILER|AS/400 hangs a PC off of your AS/400 system to provide mileage to the AS/400 via data queues. A mileage server that runs on the PC listens to an input queue on the AS/400, and writes to an output queue that is specified in each request packet. PC*MILER products are NOT inter-version compatible. Meaning, you cannot run a PC*MILER V17 mileage server on the same PC as a PC*MILER V19 mileage server. The mileage servers are dependent on a PC*MILER mileage DLL that has the same name from release to release. We have a Multi-Version Switch (MVS) product available now that will let you run multiple versions of PC*MILER together. Please contact sales to obtain information about this product.

The current solution available is to setup two PC's so that you can easily run both versions. On the AS/400 side, you separate the two by the input queue that each listens too. If you will be running the PC*MILER Green Screen Interactive Programs, you will have to have two separate libraries. If mileage will be read from a custom application, you will have to direct the PC*MILER V15 requests to the PC*MILER V15 input queue, and the PC*MILER V16 requests to the PC*MILER V16 input queue that the mileage server is listening too.
