2. Why does it take so long to find the satellites? I. When the GPS unit is first initialized it can take several minutes for the receiver to locate the satellites in orbit. Be sure that the GPS receiver has an unobstructed view of the sky. Trees, buildings, and other obstacles are capable of blocking the satellite signals. | |||
