7. When I try to run Pocket CoPilot on my desktop from my hard drive I get a message that says "Pocket CoPilot Can't Find the Data" and the program won't start. What can I do?

Have you loaded either the East or West coast data cd to your hard drive explained in section 3 above? If so follow the directions below.

  1. A. You need to check that the TravRoute program is looking to the correct drive and directory. To do this:
    • Go to your Start button --> Programs --> Windows Explorer --> and click on the drive letter which corresponds to your hard drive (usually C).
    • Within drive C, find the folder "Program Files"and double-click on it so that all of your program folders are listed.
    • Find the "TravRoute" folder and double click on it.
    • Find the folder "PocketCP" and double-click on it.
    • Find the folder APP and double click on it
    • You'll see a file named "PocketCP.ini" listed among other folders. The icon looks like a little notepad with a spiral binding on top and a little yellow wheel in it. Double-click on the PocketCP.ini file and a Notepad window will open.
    • The first line under [Directories] should read:
LRGridDir=C:\Program Files\TravRoute\PocketCP\DataCD. Make sure the letter after "=" is your hard drive letter (the drive you installed the data CD to). In this example above, it is C. If the drive letter or directory is incorrect, change it to the correct letter and directory and Go to file and click on Save.
    • Close Windows Explorer and run your TravRoute program normal.
