You have a iPAQ 3800 or 3900 with a CF GPS. Please follow
the directions below:
Step 1
This patch is to be used with Pocket CoPilot 3.0 only. To
confirm that you should be using this patch, please launch
Pocket CoPilot on your PPC and under the "Edit" menu go to
"Options...About CoPilot". Please verify that you are currently
using version 3.1.9.
Step 2
Once you have verified that you have version 3.1.9, close
Pocket CoPilot if it's running and uninstall your current
version of Pocket CoPilot from your Pocket PC by going to
"Start...Settings...System...Remove Programs". Tap once on
"Pocket CoPilot" to highlight it, then tap on the "Remove"
button.
If you are using the Text-to-Speech feature of Pocket CoPilot
DO NOT uninstall Pocket Speech. If you have Text-to-Speech
installed, you will hear street names in the turn instuctions
-- "Just ahead, turn left on South Street."
Step 3
Make sure that your Pocket PC is connected to your Desktop/Laptop.
Step 4
Select the appropriate file below at the END of these instructions.
A dialogue box will open, save the .CAB file to your desktop
/ laptop hard drive.
Step 5
Locate the file on your desktop / laptop hard drive and then
copy the patch file and save it to the "My Documents" folder
on your Pocket PC. NOTE: Zip utilities (such as WinZip) might
recognize the patch as a compressed file. DO NOT unzip the
patch file.
Step 6
Once the file has been copied down to your Pocket PC, disconnect
your Pocket PC from your laptop/desktop.
Step 7
On your Pocket PC, go to Start...Programs...File Explorer.
Step 8
In the "My Documents" folder, you will see the file that you
just copied over from your laptop/desktop. Tap on this file
once and it will automatically install the updated version
of Pocket CoPilot 3.0.
NOTE: Once the software has been installed,
the .CAB file will automatically remove itself from your Pocket
PC.
