4. If you are receiving the following error message " Expansion pack initialization failed" using an iPaq 3600 please follow the instructions below. If you are not using an iPaq 3600 please fill out a Technical Support Request form.

1. Check to verify you have the correct ROM version installed.
   1. On your Pocket PC go to Start, Settings, System, Asset Viewer.
   2. In Asset Viewer click on the + sign next to Version.
   3. Your ROM version should be 1.77 or higher. If your ROM version is not 1.77 or higher you need to perform a ROM upgrade. The ROM upgrade can be done using the Compaq utility on our installation CD or you can visit Compaq's website at www.hp.com.
2. Below are the instructions for the ROM upgrade procedure using the utility on our Installation CD. Please close all other applications on both your PC and Pocket PC.
   1. Insert the Pocket CoPilot 3.0 installation CD.
   2. Double click on My Computer.
   3. Right click on your CD-ROM drive then select open.
   4. Double click on the ROM upgrade folder.
   5. Double click on the file UpgradeUT.exe.
   6. The ROM utility window will pop up. Follow the instructions carefully.
      
   WARNING: If you tamper with your computer or Pocket PC while performing the ROM upgrade you may lose your ROM image and damage your Pocket PC. We recommend selecting to backup your current ROM version before proceeding. You will be prompted to do this during the ROM upgrade procedure.
   
   NOTE: TravRoute will not be held responsible for any loss of data nor any damage to the Pocket PC's operating system when upgrading the ROM. This is a Compaq utility designed to update your Pocket PC to the latest ROM available for your operating system.
