6. When I insert my GPS jacket onto my ipaq I get the following error message "Unknown Card in socket2". How can I fix this?

  1. Instructions for testing the CF card to determine if it is recognized.
Note: Neither Pocket CoPilot nor the GPS Jacket Drivers need to be installed to use the CF slot on the GPS Jacket.
    1. On your Pocket PC tap on Start, Settings, System, Memory, Storage Card.
    2. If the card is recognized, there will be a summary of the free/used space on the card. If this exists, the hardware is fine.
    3. If it is not recognized, "Not Installed" will be displayed next to the "Total storage card memory:" description. If this situation exists, verify the card has been inserted properly. Remove the card and re-insert again and perform the same test.
    4. If the problem still persists, if you have another CF expansion pack perform the same test with the other expansion pack to determine if the card is recognized. This will eliminate the possibility of a faulty CF card.
  2. Instructions for testing the GPS jacket is recognized by the iPaq.
    1. On your Pocket PC tap on Start, Settings, System, Expansion Pack.
    2. If the GPS jacket is recognized by the iPaq under Description it will say "Navman GPS and Compact Flash type II".
    3. If there is no description, we suggest performing a Hard Reset to your device. There may be a conflict between your iPaq and GPS jacket. Please follow the instructions in your users manual to perform a Hard Reset.
WARNING: Performing a Hard Reset to your device will result in a loss of all existing data. Please perform a Backup of all programs before resetting your device. Please refer to you Ipaq users manual for complete instructions. If your GPS jacket or CF card are still not recognized please contact our Technical Support team by filling out a Technical Support Request form.
